Man sentenced to life for killing father

Peeter, according to prosecution stabbed his father by a sharp screw-driver when his father refused to pay money for consuming liquor.

A local court convicted a murder accused, Peeter Paul Kulu (28) and sentenced him to life imprisonment for killing his father last year.

The Additional District Sessions Judge, V Jayashree while pronouncing the judgement in Rourkela on February 20 found Peeter guilty of stabbing to death to his father, Mikel Kulu at their house in Jalada-B block area of the city on April 29 last year.

Peeter, according to prosecution had stabbed his father by a sharp screw-driver when his father refused to pay money for consuming country liquor as he was a habitual drinker.

The judge after examining atleast 11 witnesses and considering the post-mortem report, has also imposed a fine of Rs two thousand or else to undergo one-more-month of imprisonment in a case of default of fine amount.
