Manisha Koirala to play politician in next

Actress Manisha Koirala, who recently tied the knot with Nepali businessman Samrat Dahal, has just signed her first film after marriage. She is slated to play a politician.

Actress Manisha Koirala, who recently tied the knot with Nepali businessman Samrat Dahal, has just signed a film. She is slated to play a politician. “It’s a women-centric film where she plays the role of a politician. The film is being made under the banner of Yograj Cinevista,” a statement issued by the producer said. The other cast and crew are under yet to be finalised.



The actress, who is the grand daughter of first elected Prime Minister of Nepal, BP Koirala, says that she always wanted to play a politician. “I am so happy Yograj Cinevista offered me this role. After my marriage, I wanted a different and challenging role and I’ve got that now,” the statement quoted Manisha as saying.



Manisha, who shot to fame with her 1991 Subhash Ghai film,

, went on to earn acclaim for her performances in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s

1942: A Love Story,

Mani Ratnam’s

Bombay, Dil Se
