Manmohan not to visit Pakistan

MEA's response came amidst reports that PM has accepted Musharraf's invitation to watch Indo-Pak series.

India on Sunday said there was no plan for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to visit Pakistan to watch any one the cricket matches in the ongoing series in that country.

"There are no plans for the Prime Minister to visit Pakistan for any of the cricket matches," said External Affairs Ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna.

Sarna's response came when asked aboutmedia reports from Islamabad which said the Indian Prime Minister has accepted an invitation by Pakistan President Pervez Musharrafto watch a match of the Indo-Pak series.

Sources in the Prime Minister's Office also said Singh is unlikely to visit Pakistan to watch any of the matches of the series.

Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam saidthat an invitation to Manmohanto visit Pakistan is already pending and it is up to him to decide whether he could time his visit to watch one of the India-Pakistan cricket matches.
