The ultras triggered blasts in the deserted primary school buildings at Sonabalijore, Mahupadar and Jharabeda last night as panicky villagers took shelter at K Balang police station.

A police officer said the schools were targeted by Maoists as the places had been used by security personnel during combing operation.

In another attack, Maoists blasted a primary health centre at Jhadbeda, located nearby, this morning.

There was no report of any injury.
