Maoists burn three Indian vehicles in Nepal

Three vehicles with Indian number plates were set on fire on Friday in Nepal by Maoists, who had called a general strike, police sources said.

A group of armed Maoists stopped two Tata Mobiles and one truck, all with Indian number plates, at Nawalparasi district, 200 km southwest of Kathmandu and later set them on fire, they said.

However, no one was injured in the incident, police said.

The Maoists had called a general strike in Nawalparasi district on Friday, of which the drivers were unaware.
