Speaking to reporters at his residence here today, he said that as law and order is deteriorating in Hyderabad, entrepreneurs may shy away from the city. The Maoists may try to take advantage of the situation and may get control over the Telangana movement, he said.

Sambasiva Rao also contended that the Centre has not gone back on Home Minister Chidambaram's December 9 statement that the "Process for the formation of separate Telangana state would be initiated".

He pointed out that the December 23 statement "The wide ranging consultations with all political parties" is a part of the process envisaged in the December 9 Statement.

He also appealed to Telangana people to call off their these agitation and maintain peace which will enable the Centre to elicit public opinion in the state.
