Mayawati was chosen Prime Ministerial candidate by over half-a-dozen political parties which had joined hands after the Left withdrew support to the UPA government at the Centre on the Indo-US nuclear deal imbroglio, he said.
There has been no change in the stand of these parties which are now part of the Third Front, Maurya claimed at a press conference here.
He, however, said a meeting of the Third Front, slated for tomorrow, is likely to take a decison on this and other issues.
Asked who would succeed Mayawati as chief minister in the event of her becoming the prime minister, Maurya said this would be decided by the party supremo herself.
