Meerut zone win trophy
THE MEERUT zone won the ?Chal Vaijanti? Trophy at the 32nd UP Police Annual Judo, Gymnastics and Wrestling Competition-2006, which concluded at the 4th Battallion PAC here.
THE MEERUT zone won the ‘Chal Vaijanti’ Trophy at the 32nd UP Police Annual Judo, Gymnastics and Wrestling Competition-2006, which concluded at the 4th Battallion PAC here.
Inspector general, Police Headquarters, Milkiat Singh gave away the prizes to the winners. Singh exhorted police personnel to excel during national tournaments. Following are the final results:
Judo (Male): Meerut zone, with three gold medals and two silver medals, was the declared winner. The PAC Central Zone, with two gold medals, one silver and four bronze medals, was declared the runner-up.
Judo (Female): The Kanpur zone team with seven gold medals and one silver was declared the winner. The Lucknow zone, with one gold and one bronze, was declared the runner-up.
Greco-Roman wrestling: The PAC Eastern zone stood first and the Central zone second. Freestyle wrestling: Varanasi zone came first with 53 points and Kanpur zone second with 39 points.
Gymnastics: PAC Eastern zone was first with 154.83 points and the PAC Central zone was second with 148.53 points. Individual championship was won by inspector Mahendra Singh Dev of Bareilly zone with 44.30 points.
