"She turned out to be fantastic, it's like a test to see how good your wife is, but she's been fantastic. But I couldn't get her into the nurse's outfit!," Douglas said.
The Oscar-winning actor, who had his knee surgically replaced, found himself limping around on the set of his forthcoming film Solitary Man and was instructed by doctors to go under the knife to correct the problem, Contactmusic reported.
"I had my knee replaced, I have an artificial knee. A little bit of PVC, plastic pipes with titanium rods. It's four weeks old," said Douglas.
The 64-year-old actor, who was visited by his 92-year-old father, legendary actor Kirk Douglas, said his father was not very kind to him and poked fun at his injury.
"After this fairly serious operation, I go see him and he said, 'How you doing?' and I said, 'Pretty good dad', and he goes, 'You know, when I had my double knee replacement, I was 88!," the actor said.
