National Commission for Women (NCW) is examining the Mika-Rakhi Sawant case in general to look into the various aspects of the issue rather than dealing it merely as a specific case, NCW chairperson Girija Vyas said on Wednesday.

"We are not just looking at it as a singular case but examining the issue in its entirety," Vyas said while talking to reporters on the sidelines of a workshop on 'Problems relating to NRI Marriages' organised here by the NCW and the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs.
To a question, she did not agree to a suggestion that the entire episode was used as a "publicity stunt" by the so-called 'Item Girl' Rakhi Sawant.
Vyas also dismissed suggestions that by kissing the male pop singer first, the actress had provided him enough provocation for going ahead for a smooch.
She said what Mika did to Rakhi Sawant was neither permissible by convention nor law.
