The first quake, measuring 5.2 on Richter scale, occurred in Camorta islands in Nicobar, India, at 0058 hrs. Epicentre was located at latitude 8.2 degree N and longitude 93.6 E.

The other quake was registered off the west coast of Northern Sumatra, Indonesia, at 0130 hrs, measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale. Its epicentre was located at latitude 3.5 degree N and longitude 93.1 degree E.
