Minister shot dead in Guyana

Gunmen burst into the minister's house and shot him to death along with two of his family members.

Gunmen burst into the home of Guyana's agriculture minister early on Saturday and shot him to death along with two of his family members and a security guard, a government spokesman said.

Another of the minister's family members was wounded in the attack at their coastal home east of the South American nation's capital, said government spokesman Robert Persaud.
