The problem began early this morning when the supporters of a political party objected to the placement of a Haryana-based polling agent at the booth, they said.

Soon supporters belonging to that party collected in large numbers and a minor scuffle ensued between them and polling officials after a verbal altercation, they added.

The situation was brought under control after police intervened and the polling is going on unaffected, they said.

When contacted, the additional director-general of police (law and order) SN Jairath said polling was underway normally in the entire state.
