Talking to mediapersons, Mishra recalled that he shunned the ‘janeu’ when he was in standard XI and taken part in the movement against casteism. However, today political parties who enjoyed major share of upper class votes, were not ready to accept him as a Socialist who lived with backward class people. On the other side, the parties popular amongst backward classes thought of him as a Brahmin. He was a misfit in both blocks, he said.

Throwing light on various important issues, Mishra said there was no restriction in Socialism. Even those from the elite class and industrialists could become a Socialist.

Socialism could not remain immune from rapid economic and social changes in the society, he said.

Mishra said there was no monarchy in the country but aristocracy still prevailed among political leaders. He claimed that Mulayam government was trying to give true meaning to the slogans raised in Socialist movement ‘Kapda roti sasti hogi, dawa padhai mufti hogi.’ (Clothes and bread will be cheap and education and health will be free). He stressed on free education from class 1 to BA and claimed that unemployment allowance had generated a new wave among the youths.

He further said that BSP president Mayawati should seek apology for her derogatory remarks against upper class people. He also ridiculed Raj Babbbar and former prime minister VP Singh and said products of zamindar family are posing to be the well wisher of farmers.
