A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale has struck the west coast of Sumatra region.

A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale has struck the west coast of Sumatra region, the Meteorological department said on Monday.
The quake, which hit the region at 3.06 pm on Sunday, was epicentred at latitude 2.8 degrees north and longitude 96.8 degrees east off the west coast of Sumatra, the department said.
