A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 stikes off the coast of the southern Philippine island of Mindanao.

A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 struck off the coast of the southern Philippine island of Mindanao early on Tuesday, US Geological Survey said.

The quake, which hit at 4:59 am (0229 IST) was centred 150 kilometres east-southeast of the city of General Santos. It occurred at a depth of 85 kilometres.
