Mangroll town of Junagadh district received the maximum 303 mm rainfall, they said.

More than 15 reservoirs received considerable rain water, while Sorathi and Dhrofal dams in Porbander district were overflowing due to overnight downpour, sources said.

The entire region was facing drinking water shortage, but the incessant rains have brought relief for the people.

Cities like, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Surednranagar, Porbander and Bhavnagar received good rainfall.

Low-lying areas in Mangroll town were submerged, while traffic was affected due to waterlogging on roads. However, road traffic was restored after water level decreased.

People from low-lying localities in the town shifted to safer places, where they are being provided with food and drinking water, Junagadh District Collector Ashwini Kumar.

There was no report of any rain-related casualty in the district, Kumar added.
