Leaders from the Congress, the BSP, the INLD and the SDF, besides some rebels, joined the BJP in Rajasthan on Wednesday.

Chief of INLD's youth wing Hanuman Beniwal, former Congress MLA Rishikesh Meena, BSP leader M Mansuri, SDF leader Rup Singh Saini and former BJP MLA-turned rebel Ram Kishore Saini were among those who joined the party in the presence of state unit president Lalit Kishore Chaturvedi in Jaipur.

Congress president of Sujangarh Municipality in Churu district Vijay Raj Sharma, sarpanch of Takakhera panchayat samiti in Swai Madhopur district Gordhan Saini and BJP rebel Ramesh Mena - who unsuccessfully contested the assembly elections as independent - also joined the party.

Chaturvedi said that the new entrants would help boost the party's performance in the coming parliamentary polls.
