MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while addressing heads of frontal organisations of the BJP, said securing two crore memberships for the party from MP was a challenge, but it would be met.
During the meeting held to discuss the membership drive, the CM said that heads of all frontal organisations should assign the task to their workers, preferably those who can give 100% of their time to meet people and achieve targets.
From the point of view of workers, this would strengthen leadership skills of those who engage in the membership drive. At the same time it would enhance their mass contact with people, the CM said.
It was decided that a day-long programme would be held in all the 230 Vidhan Sabha segments simultaneously where 10,000 members from each constituency would be made. The programme would be held on December 25, on the birth day of former BJP Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The CM also said that achieving such a large target would only be possible if the workers approach and visit each and every family in the state in a ‘house to house’ campaign.
State BJP president Nandkumar Singh Chauhan was announced the head of the membership drive cell while Tapan Bhaumik was appointed the in-charge of the membership drive control room.
During the meet, state organisational general secretary Arvind Menon also unveiled an elaborate plan for the membership drive.
