Mulayam Govt has failed on all fronts: Congress

ENTHUSED BY decision of party president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to address numbers at meetings all over the state, Congress activists staged a dharna at the district magistrate office demanding to oust the Samajwadi Party, which had “failed” to come up to the people’s expectations. Congressmen took out a procession that passed through various routes and later converted into a dharna at the district magistrate office.

Handing over a memorandum to the city magistrate to be forwarded to the Governor, Congress leaders said State ministers were involved in a food grain scam and demanded CBI inquiry into it. They condemned the Mulayam Singh Yadav government for failure to check crime graph in the State and said it was a mafia rule.

Party leaders demanded an inquiry into complaints of corruption in the medical department alleging purchase of poor quality medicines. City unit president of the party Chaudhary Irshad Husain said withdrawal of criminal cases from political activists by the State Government was a move to free criminals.

Speaking on the occasion, AICC member Lal Chand Nishad blamed SP for misleading people of the State on the power scenario. He said power generation was no problems but mismanagement in distribution of power supply had added to the woes of the people.

Divisional spokespersons of the party Siddharth Priya Srivastav and State secretary of Minority Cell Tauqir Alam condemned the government for distributing unemployment allowance instead of jobs to graduates. Party leader Tasneem Alam Ansari, Qamruzzama Ansari, Jamil Ahmad Khan, Rashid Husain, Lal Ji Shukla, Madan Tripathi also fired a salvo at the SP government.

Siddharthnagar: CONGRESS LEADERS demanded immediate dismissal of the State Government for its “failure to maintain law and order”. In this connection, party activists staged a sit-in on the Collectorate premises. They were led by newly appointed District Congress Committee president Ishwar Chandra Shukla, who asked workers to remain united.

Sant Kabir Nagar: Congress activists staged a demonstration in front of the court of other sub-divisional magistrate court at Khalilabad on Wednesday.

Later, they handed over a 15-point memorandum, addressed to the Governor, through the district administration.

Pratapgarh: Congress workers staged a dharna against deteriorating law and order, power crisis and corruption in U.P. Congress workers staged a dharna at the Collectorate. The dharna was presided over by former District Congress president Haji Ramzan Ali.
