Two suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives arrested on Thursday night in connection with the serial bomb blasts in commuter trains in Mumbai, were on Friday remanded to police custody till August nine by a local court.

Faizal Sheikh and Muzammil Sheikh, two brothers from Mira Road in neighbouring Thane district, had been detained for the past two weeks and were arrested on Thursday night by Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).

They were produced before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate AM Garade amidst tight security.

ATS officials told the court that they were suspected to have acted as motivators to send youths to undergo training at LeT camps in Pakistan. Both the accused had also undergone LeT training in Pakistan.

According to ATS, Muzammil, who works as a software programmer with an MNC at Bangalore, is alleged to have taught LeT members on how to use internet chat sites for secret communication, to bypass usual telecommunication, which is highly intercepted by central intelligence agencies
