Munavvar?s Quawwali steals the show

NOTED QAWWAL Munavvar Masoom Sayeed stole the show on fourth day at Panchmarhi Utsav on Friday. Munavvar Masoom, a follower of Ustad Abdul Gafoor, belongs to Mevat gharana. In his qawwalis the audiences witnessed a touch of Sufi music.

NOTED QAWWAL Munavvar Masoom Sayeed stole the show on fourth day at Panchmarhi Utsav on Friday. Munavvar Masoom, a follower of Ustad Abdul Gafoor, belongs to Mevat gharana. In his qawwalis the audiences witnessed a touch of Sufi music.

He began the programme with a ghazal of Amir Khusro and sang selected qawwalis which enthralled the audiences all through the programme.

Khan Sahab and Rafiq Ahmad accompanied him on Tabla, Arif Lateef on organ and Mohammad Ibrahim on harmonium. Sharma of Sanjay Sansthan conducted the programme.
