Eager to translate his `reel appeal' into `real votes' for his father,  actor Sanjay Dutt had turned up at the north-west constituency to seek support for his father and congress nominee,  Sunil Dutt.

Donning a white shirt,  with 'Om' scribbled across,  Sanjay climbed atop the vehicle along with his father yesterday,  urging voters to cast their franchise in favour of Congress.

Sanjay,  who went around in his `Munnabhai' style,  struck a chord with the voters,  as he shook hands and waved out to his fans,  Congress sources said on Monday.

The actor,  also addressed two meetings in north-west Bandra,  to briefly campaign for his father,  who is pitted against the Sena's firebrand leader,  Sanjay Nirupam.

"In fact Sanjay's campaign was not a pre-planned one. He had some time off after shooting in Rajasthan and so turned up at the campaigning,"   the sources said adding that he would return to Jaisalmer for film shooting today.
