Murder case filed against soldiers in J&K

Even as the Indian army denied that its soldiers killed two young men near Sopore in north Kashmir, a case of murder has been registered against the armymen at the Sopore police station on Sunday. Rashid Ahmad reports.

Even as the Indian army denied that its soldiers killed two young men near Sopore in north Kashmir, a case of murder has been registered against the armymen at the Sopore police station on Sunday.

At least 10,000 Kashmiris defied curfew in Sopore to take part in the funeral prayers.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has ordered an enquiry and sought a report within 15 days.

This is the fourth incident in which the army has been accused of killing civilians since Abdullah assumed power on January 5.
