Muslim outfit Pudhuvai Towheed Jammath on Sunday strongly condemned the terror attack at the Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad on Friday.

"The attack was most uncivilised and deserved to be condemned in strongest terms," its spokesman, a peer Mohammad said in a statement in Puducherry.

He appealed to the Central and state governments to identify the culprits and award them punishment.

Steps should also be taken to ensure that there was no threat to peace anywhere in the country, he said.

A powerful bomb blast during Friday prayers at the mosque and a clash with the police soon after the explosion by a mob claimed 14 lives and injured over 50, including five children, in Hyderabad.
