Nandana craves for fun-filled roles
She's ready to grab the limelight again with Life Times. Johnny D tells more.
Shuttling between US, UK and India, Nandana Sen is all set to be wooed by two handsome married men - Kay Kay Menon and Jimmy Shergill in Anand Rai's Life Times.
Amidst her busy schedule in meetings, shooting, dubbing and designing her new home in Versova, we caught Nandana for an interview. Excerpts:
It's been a long time after My Wife's Murder?
Yes and no! Yes because I have been busy shooting for films in UK and US. However, the reason I said 'no' is because my English film War Within was released in more than 30 cities in UK and US. The film was even nominated for the IPA awards.
How come you are doing more
English films than Hindi ones?
I don't know how people have developed an image that I do only serious roles. I would love to play light roles also. It is not that I am doing more English films than Hindi. Like I am doing Anand Rai's , opposite Kay Kay and Jimmy Shergill.
What character do you portray in Life Times?
I am not supposed to divulge the film details. However, what I can say is that it is a powerful, sensitive and subtle triangular love story between me, Jimmy and Kay Kay. The movie is set in London. Life Times is being directed by Anand Rai and shows the complexities of human emotions.
What are your next releases?
I have three films lined up for release. However, I don't really know when they will hit the theatres. Marigold is ready. It is again a love triangle. I think it is Hollywood's tribute to Bollywood, with songs and dance. Even though it is an English film, it will be dubbed in Hindi. I play the woh in the film with Salman Khan and Ali Larter. Salman plays the Prince in the film and I am playing the typical Indian Princess from Rajasthan.
Then there is It's a Mistmatch with LA based Indian actor Anubhav Anand. The film also has Boman Irani and Anupam Kher. I play a Gujarati girl, who is in love with a Punjabi boy. Then I have The Forrest, directed by Ashwin Kumar, who is known for Little Terrorist. It is again a love triangle between me, Javed Jaffery and Ankur Bakal. All the three movies are in English.
