Loot bid foiled
Two bank employees were shot at and injured while a robber was shot dead on the spot, during an exchange of fire, in Sant Ravidas Nagar in Bhadohi district, on Friday. The other three robbers managed to flee.

The robber who was shot was identified as Abhishek, a resident of Varanasi.
A gang of four robbers had made an abortive attempt to loot Rs 20 lakh from the State Bank of India van.

According to information, employees of the SBI main branch left for another branch of the bank in Bhadohi with Rs 20 lakh. As the van reached near the bank at Lippan crossing, a gang of four armed robbers stopped them.

Sensing danger, bank gunman Ram Pal Singh took his position inside the van. In the exchange of fire, the gunman shot one of the miscreants.
