Naxals burn Panchayat records in Maharashtra

A group of Naxalites burnt the office records of two Gram Panchayats in Bhamragarh taluka of Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra on Friday, police said.

The ultras brought out the records from the Aanganwadi buildings of Kuwakodi and Foudewada gram panchayats and destroyed them on the second day of their bharat bandh, police said.

Meanwhile, the bandh failed to evoke any response with markets and business establishments remaining open and vehicular traffic, barring MSRTC buses, plying normally, police added.
