NDA govt riddled in scams: Sonia

NDA which promised to provide a corruption free government was riddled in scams and rampant corruption, Sonia said in a rally.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday said "NDA government which promised to provide a corruption free government was riddled in scams and rampant corruption" and reiterated that only her party can provide a stable government.

She appealed to vote for a change at the Centre and at state promising that Congress will give priority for the welfare of all sections of society and youth.

Training her guns on TDP, Gandhi said: "During its nine- year tenure TDP was indifferent towards weaker sections which led to farmers and weavers' committing suicides besides closing down several factories."

Giving a local flavour to her brief 15-minute speech,she said, the Velugonda irrigation project, which provides water to Nellore and Prakasham remained incomplete due to the misplaced priorities of TDP rule.

Congress has chalked out special programmes for the welfare of each section of the society with special focus on dalits, minorities,youth and adivasis.

Gandhi, who arrived two hours behind schedule, went round the front barricade and greeted the people mostly women.
