"The Commission feels that there should be a nation-wide debate on this as the entire society is involved," NCW Chairperson Giriya Vyas told reporters in the capital.
She said that during discussions with NGOs, civil society and government on the sexual assault Bill, there had been discussions on section 377 along with 375 and 376 dealing with sexual assault. But added that, "the debate needs to be wider".
After a meeting between the ministers of home, law and health, the Government appeared to be cautious in its approach to the controversial law relating to same gender sex.
