She will next face fouth seed and Australian Open champion Shahar Peer of Israel on Tuesday.

Neha recieved a wild-card entry to The Championships — an honour very rarely given to non-British people.

The Boca Raton-based player won the singles title at the Luxilon Cup, the junior event held in conjunction with the Nasdaq-100 Open, earlier this year.

Neha, who was named USTA's Circuit Player of the Week recently, also earned the distinction of becoming the first person of Indian origin to qualify for a Tier 1 event on the WTA Tour.
