The man, identified as Bhagban Bahadur (55) of Nepal, was picked up on Sunday night after intelligence agencies tracked messages on anti-national activities sent by him through mobile phone to Canada and Kolkata, Mayurbhanj superintendent of police Dayal Gangwar said.
He was picked up from Bohalda, about 110 km from Orissa on Jharkhand border where he works as a night watchman with an electricity supply company, following a tip-off by intelligence agencies.
Bahadur, who has been staying at Bohalda along with his wife and two sons for the last couple of months, was brought here and is being interrogated by the police.
Efforts were on to ascertain facts about the messages sent by him and his antecedents were also being verified, Gangwar said.
