Night temperature dipped to sub zero in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir after a brief upward trend a few days ago.

Leh in the frontier region of Ladakh is the coldest place of the state as minimum temperature there dropped to minus 11 degrees celsius, the Met office said.
The night temperature also decreased a few degrees in Pahalgam, Qazigund and Kokernag in South Kashmir and Kupwara in North Kashmir recording a low of minus 4.4, minus 1.4, 1.2 and minus 1.5 degrees celsius respectively.
Srinagar, the summer capital of the state, recorded a low of minus 0.7 degrees celsius which is 1.3 degrees above normal.
However, night temperature showed an upward trend in Jammu region as the city recorded a low of 8.6 degrees celsius followed by Katra (8.1), Batote (3.8), Bhaderwah (1.7) and Banihal (0).
