Nine Shiv Sainiks arrested for attacking Kasab's lawyer

As per the TV reports, nine Shiv Sainiks have been arrested for attacking Anjali Waghmare, who had been appointed to represent Mumbai terror attack accused Ajmal Amir Kasab. Waghmare on Monday withdrew from the Kasab's case after her Worli residence in Mumbai was attacked by Shiv Sena activists.

Nine Shiv Sainiks, including a corporator, were arrested for attacking the residence of advocate Anjali Waghmare, appointed by a special court to represent the lone terrorist arrested in the Mumbai strikes, Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab.

"Nine Sena workers were held last night for unlawful assembly and house trespass. They were holding protest outside Waghmare's residence in Worli Police Camp," senior police inspector B V Worlikar said.

They will be produced before a magistrate in the afternoon, he told PTI.

The special court trying Kasab has appointed Waghmare to defend him.

Over 100 activists had on Monday night staged a protest and pelted stones at the residence of Waghmare demanding that she withdraw from the case.
