Nitish, Lalu condole Digvijay Singh's death

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today expressed profound shock and grief at the demise of former Union Minister and Lok Sabha MP from the state Digvijay Singh.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday expressed profound shock and grief at the demise of former Union Minister and Lok Sabha MP from the state Digvijay Singh.

"In his death, not only Bihar but also the country has lost a great leader and prominent social worker," Kumar said in his condolence message.

Condoling Singh's death, RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his wife and former chief minister Rabri Devi said his death has created a void in politics which won't be filled.

Singh died today in a hospital in London following a brain hemorrhage. He was 55 and is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Singh, who was at present representing Banka constituency in the Lok Sabha as an independent, was MoS for External Affairs in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister S K Modi, state LJP president Pashupati Kumar Paras, his RJD counterpart Abdul Bari Siddiqui, state Congress chief Chowdhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser and other ministers also condoled his death.
