The CPI (M) state secretary N Varadarajan said in a statement issued from Chennai said that the government had not made any proposal to address the job-loss and the business slowdown in sectors like automobile, knitwear and readymade export units and other engineering-related industries.

"There is no scheme to revive agriculture, which has been severely affected by drought and floods while the budget makes no mention on launching a flood-drain system at the Cauvery basin," the DMK's erstwhile ally which has now joined hands with the AIADMK, said.

He said there were no 'worthwhile announcements' in the fields of Industries, Education and Health.
