Salman Khan’S bail plea in the chinkara poaching case will be heard on Thursday.

The actor’s hopes for an early release from the Jodhpur jail received a setback on Wednesday when the judge supposed to hear his plea declined to do it and transferred the case to another bench of the Rajasthan High Court.

Justice Gopal Krishna Vyas declined to hear the case apparently because he was the counsel for the veterinarian who had conducted the post-mortem of the chinkara, reported PTI. The judge was to hear Salman’s bail plea as well as the revision petition against the order of the district and sessions court upholding his conviction.

The case will now be hear in the court of Justice HR Panwar.

Salman’s counsel Hastimal Saraswat said, “The court will hear our plea on Thursday.” Salman has spent the past five days in prison.
