No breakthrough yet in IPS officer’s death

Three days after senior IPS officer Manjit Singh Ahlwat mysteriously fell to his death on Saturday, the city police have failed to make any breakthrough in case. Moreover, senior officials have been tightlipped on the findings of the investigation.

Three days after senior IPS officer Manjit Singh Ahlwat mysteriously fell to his death on Saturday, the city police have failed to make any breakthrough in case. Moreover, senior officials have been tightlipped on the findings of the investigation.

Meanwhile, the police have taken away details regarding entry and exit from the register at Freedom Park Life in Sector 57, where the death was reported. Also, the media has been strictly barred from visiting the apartment.

“We have been asked not to allow any mediaperson inside. Also, officials have taken away pages which had the entry and exit of that particular date. We have the same register with us but without those pages,” said a security guard on the condition of anonymity.

Ahlawat was posted as inspector general of India Reserve Battalion (IRB) at Bhondsi near Gurgaon. Led by DCP (west) Maheshwar Dayal, the investigation was launched on Sunday immediately after the senior IPS official was cremated.
