The police investigations, supported by the intelligence wing of the IAF, have not pulled off a breakthrough yet.
What is surprising is that the Chakeri police have not initiated the search operation even though directed by the senior police authorities. Till now, they have collected only samples from the blast site for forensic examination.
The lackadaisical approach is despite the reports that illegal making of firecrackers was not restricted to only house that was razed in the blast.
Sources said that a number of families in the area were busy in making firecrackers for the wholesalers.
Even the injured, admitted in the hospital, had told the police that one Firoz had taken the ground floor of the house on rent, in which illegal cracker factory was running. Firoz is also known as a scrap dealer and coincidently there was also a scrap dealer named Firoz involved in a powerful blast occurred last year. While all the bodies have been identified and now it is clear that Firoz was not on the spot at the time of blast, and then question arises where is Firoz ?
However this is not the only point on which police investigation revolves. SSP PC Meena said: “We are doing a comprehensive investigation of the case. It includes investigations of the role played in the incident by Firoz and others, who were involved in the outsourcing of the crackers.
Our investigation also includes search of the area and interrogating all the local residents of Bibipur. We are also working on the line of criminal investigation as well as subversive activities”.
