"There is no epidemic of diarrheal disease in Jammu Province after the recent floods in the state," Director, Health Services (Jammu) Dr Baljeet Singh Pathania said.

He said the department was vigilant and monitoring the situation on a daily basis.

"However, the mobile health teams are continuously visiting the affected villages, generating awareness about the danger of water-borne diseases and distributing chlorine tablets to the households," Pathania said.

He appealed to the people to take preventive measures for few months to avoid contamination and spread of diseases.
