Almost a week after 11 members of two families met their tragic end when they were swept away at Bagdari fall, the district administration has expressed its inability in making any safety arrangement over there.
District collector Vivek Porwal said, "One cannot stop people from their free movement in such areas. It is the people who have to take care of themselves as the administration is doing its work."
He said Bagdari fall comes under forest area and there is no approach road to the spot from the main road (Patan-Tendukheda) but still the people manage to go through the forest to reach the spot.
Over reported instructions from the state government to make safety arrangements on such spots like putting up proper railing and sign boards, he said Bagdari spot was not a notified tourist spot. Thus there was no reason to make safety arrangements over there.
"People go there as per their own wishes putting their lives at risk," Porwal said. However, he added, the district administration through various modes was informing people to avoid visiting such spots.
