The Ghaziabad police said the post-mortem was conducted with the permission of the district administration. The victims were cremated on Sunday morning. Coincidentally, this happened the day current SSP L. Ravi Kumar was transferred and a new SSP joined the district force.

Bhushan Sharma (40), his wife Shikha (35) and their daughter Simran (12) were found murdered at their New Shiv Puri residence in Hapur on Saturday. As per Satish Chand, Circle Officer (Hapur), the police suspect involvement of more than three assailants in the murders.

Also, robbery and sexual assault was suspected in the triple-murder but the post-mortem reports ruled out any sexual assault.

“There was no request to the police to conduct post-mortem late night,” said Vishal Sharma, brother Bhushan Sharma who performed the last rites.

Further, the police denied robbery as a motive into the incident but the family members said valuables like gold and cash were missing from the house.
