Family members of the teenager, who studies at a boarding school in Dehradun and is a resident of Sector 10 Noida, registered an FIR against the vendor with Ghaziabad GRP police on Friday.

GRP Ghaziabad officials said the boy had boarded the train at Ghaziabad and was on his way to his school in Dehradun.

“While the train was between Meerut and Khatauli, the boy requested the vendor to let him use his mobile phone as he wanted to check his e-ticket details. The boy’s own mobile had some problem. The vendor then charged the teen with travelling without ticket after which an altercation broke out,” said Pankaj Lavaniya, Ghaziabad GRP official.

The family alleged that during the altercation, the vendor threw the boy out of the train. “They lodged an FIR against the contractual vendor Shiv Kumar,” Lavaniya said.

The victim is currently at a relative’s place in Haridwar and undergoing treatment. His uncle Praveen Chauhan said that though the train was moving slowly, the boy suffered injuries on his chest, leg and throat.
