Not averse to film on incident: Delhi gangrape victim’s friend

Awnindra Pratap Pandey, the friend of the Delhi bus gang-rape victim, was in the city on Monday to promote the film Tara: The Journey of Love and Passion, which is about women’s empowerment.
Kumar Raj, the producer and director, brought Pandey on board to create awareness about the film and the cause.
While some may think this attempt to promote a film might be trying to cash in on the brutal gang rape of the 23-year-old girl, Pandey said, “We are going ahead with a good intention and have come to promote the film. This is why I got associated with them. If we ponder over what others think, we won’t be able to do anything in life.”
Though he hasn’t got any offer yet, Pandey isn’t averse to a film being made on the horrific incident.
“The intention would matter. Many films are made on many topics with big stars and bigger budgets. But the aim is just to make money.” He also spoke about his association with a Gorakhpur-based NGO Meebha Communication Foundation.
