A notice for violation of the Model Code of Conduct has been served on JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav for allegedly travelling in a car with a beacon light while going to address a public meeting in Shikohabad area of the district.

"A serious note of the leader using a red beacon light during the public meeting has been taken and he has been issued a notice for violation of code of conduct," district electoral officer Surendra Singh said.

The leader has been asked to reply within 24 hours, he said, adding that the EC has also been informed.

Yadav allegedly used a vehicle fitted with red beacon light during a public meeting in Shikohabad on Saturday.
