On the directions of the election observer for the Pataudi assembly constituency Ajai Shankar Pandey, the notice has been issued to them by the returning officer-cum-SDM of Pataudi, Virender Chaudhary, a Haryana government release said.

"We got complaints from nearby residents mentioning that firecrackers and loud speakers were being used in the premises of the Pataudi palace which were disturbing them. On the basis of these complaints, we have issued notice to them under violation of Pollution Act," SDM said.

They have been accused of using the loudspeaker, DJ and organising a "cocktail party" in Pataudi Palace last (Friday) evening allegedly without obtaining specific permission from the competent authority, the release said.

They have been charged with not obtaining licence for the bar for the party, it said.

The duo has been asked to explain their conduct by 3pm on October 21.

The release said that as per the directions of the Election Commission of India, the Model Code of Conduct is applicable in Haryana up to October 22, 2014.

Haryana went to polls on October 15 and votes would be counted on Sunday.
