The cases of fraud were registered at the Tukoganj (one case) and Juni Indore police station (two cases), a few months back, after complaints from depositors of Gujarat Mercantile Credit Cooperative Limited, who said Janak Gandhi had cheated them and was not returning their money. Janak Gandhi heads the cooperative.
A notice under Section 91 of CrPC calls upon the person to produce all documents in his possession pertaining to the case. The police have also told Janak Gandhi that he should report to the police station before he leaves the City for any work.
