Counter FIRs have been lodged in the matter at the local police station.

It was around 11.30 am when a DCM truck (UP 32 A-9379) hit ADG, Vigilance Establishment, Ratiram’s official car near Chhannilal crossing. The car was hit on driver’s side. The accident took place when DCM’s driver Sattar tried to avoid hitting a motorcycle. Though there was no damage to the car, ADG’s driver Mangla Yadav and the gunner dragged Sattar out of the truck. While they beat up Sattar mercilessly, the ADG walked to his nearby office ignoring it.

Meanwhile, some policemen arrived there in plain clothes and joined Mangla and the gunner in the assault. Sattar somehow managed to call his Aliganj office and about a dozen of the company employees arrived there. The policemen left the place immediately and reached straight to the Mahanagar Police Station.

They got an FIR lodged against Sattar for hitting the car and reckless driving.

Later, the DCM driver too arrived there and lodged a counter FIR of assault and the accident against Mangla and other unidentified policemen. However, senior cops feigned ignorance when they were inquired about the arrest of police driver Mangla Yadav. SP (trans-Gomti) AK Singh said he was unaware as to under which sections of the IPC was case against Mangla Yadav registered.

On the other hand, ADG Ratiram said if DCM had not collided with the divider, his driver and gunner would have suffered fatal injuries. He feigned ignorance about the assault on Sattar.
