Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam chairman and managing director Devender Singh claimed that the facility of giving information to consumers through SMS had been tested successfully, while the facility for registration of complaints was nearly completed and was being tested.
How it works
The CMD said consumers may register their complaints with Discom, DHBVN or UHBVN through SMS at 51969, by typing 'HR DHBVN
contents of complaint
account number' or 'HR UHBVN
contents of complaint
account number'.
When the system receives the complaint, it will forward it to the official concerned, identified on the basis of the account number given in the SMS.
Simultaneously, the system will send an SMS to the complainant, acknowledging receipt of complaint by the system and giving him the complaint number and informing about the tentative time of redress, based on the already-laid standards of performance.
Singh added that with the activation of the system, consumers registering complaints through any mode would get information about the status of their complaints via SMS. For this, registration of mobile phone numbers with the Discom is necessary.
