The cameras have been installed at strategic places to keep a hawk eye on the movement of the passengers on these platforms.

ADG (Railways) BK Bhalla formally inaugurated the control room of the close circuit TV cameras at the GRP office.

He said: “With the number of people increasing at platforms, it was becoming difficult to keep an eye on each and every individual.”

“With the help of these cameras, it would become easier to keep a track of the movement of the people. Within three months, more cameras will be installed at all the important stations of UP. About 35 cameras are on the purchase list. In the first phase they will be installed at Kanpur, Muradabad and Varanasi,” he said.

At Lucknow, these spy cameras have been installed at platforms 1, 8 and 9. Ultra modern lens will also be put up. GRP exuded confidence that they will work more vigilantly with the help of these cameras.
